Terence Mills, CEO Chatbots, drones, driverless cars—it is an endless list of possibilities; artificial intelligence is used practically everywhere, from consumer products to healthcare, retail to manufacturing, and entertainment. News about extraordinary accomplishments in the fields of language translation, image recognition, and gaming among others—all driven by AI—happen every now and then. However, business ambitions for using artificial intelligence often don’t meet the expectations as far as the execution is concerned. But AI.io is about to change the scenario for enterprises. AI.io’s recently launched, PLATO—perceptive learning artificial-intelligence technology operating—platform powering applications in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and cognitive AI for both consumer and enterprise use cases.
PLATO is built on the IBM Watson and Google backbones, and one of its main focuses is catering to businesses that have retail consumers in various industry segments. It delivers cognitive AI capabilities, allowing it to think and reason like a human and is changing how individuals experience their lives through interactive, natural language products while also changing the nature of work within the enterprise. AI.io works with businesses of all sizes to create applications that can be integrated with PLATO, based on specific business needs and objectives. This custom integration will enable the enterprise to harness the AI computing power of PLATO by using ‘intelligent AIs’ to convert customer insights into strategic engagement, automate and optimize processes, empower customer service and sales teams, take action in real-time using predictive data, and personalize cognitive engagement at scale.
One of the products that AI.io is currently developing in for residential real estate, consumer marketplace is Halo.
Halo will enable the tenants to speak to the system anytime, from any room in the apartment
“An AI powered butler that can be deployed in residential rental buildings for tenants use both while at home and away from home. Halo will enable the tenants to speak to Halo anytime, from any room in the apartment or on any mobile device,” states Terence Mills, CEO of AI.io. Halo will undertake several tasks for the tenant, including ordering food, unlocking the door if the tenant forgets the key, booking travel tickets, booking event tickets, controlling the smart home, and even providing security by recognizing the person at the door and determining if he or she is a threat or not, and much more. Halo’s connection to PLATO is achieved through a wall-mounted tablet. Even more exciting is when Halo will “come to life” when interfaced with Softbank’s Pepper robot who will be in lobbies of luxury buildings where Halo instances are installed.
Broadway Insights is another product that AI.io has built, for the entertainment industry. The platform leverages PLATO to introduce new sources of growth in the Broadway and Off-Broadway entertainment industry while strengthening the role of people by providing them with unique insights that lead to intelligent production and profitability decisions.
Continuing to expand the capabilities of their products and explore the opportunities in several sectors, the AI.io team is focused on partnering with providers in a myriad of markets and developing more applications that will leverage the computing power of PLATO. Grabbing the opportunity in the Chinese AI industry that is being largely funded by the government, AI.io is in the process of pursuing a $50 million Series B raise in China. “We see the potential to grow to be almost limitless. Our goal is to build cognitive, AI applications for PLATO in consumer and enterprise markets that change the nature of work and how people live their lives in ways they could only have imagined," concluded Mills.
